Taco Local

Located at the busy street of Jalan Panglima Polim, this little humble taco destination is a gem. It's located next to the famous Mangia, and just footsteps away from Loobie Lobster and Holy Gyu!.

They are in the middle of renovation and expanding which they are planning on opening a coffee shop at their previous location. The decoration is warm and homey, with lots of wood elements. If you go here, I bet you'll find it hard to leave! Since the new location was a bike shop, you can still find bikes hanging near you.

bikes everywhere!

 pretty little details

 guess what? reading corner!
I just can't stop taking pictures of the details and decorations of this restaurant, since they are all so pretty and in someway unique.  They even have a reading corner where you can lounge and read magazine they provided.

Okay enough with the pretty decorations, let's move on to the food!

Nachos Local (50 K)

This is their house special nachos. It may be deceiving about the portion at first, but the moment you start dig in you'll find it big! The Nachos Local consists of corn chips, generous amount of cheese, frijoles, guacamole, salsa fresca and your choice of chili or elote. It's best served if you take the chips and have a little dip of everything. Everything is wonderful, especially the salsa which is sooo fresh. You can share this dish with up to 4 people.

Double Lengua Taco (60 K)

Everything in this taco is AMAZING! Because I'm a fan of beef tongue, this dish stole my heart at the very first bite. This taco consists of beef tounge, salsa fresca, and salsa verde.

 big chunks of beef tongue

It's a heavenly dish for someone who loves beef tongue like I do. They give generous and big chunks of beef tongue. Oh, and they have tips for eating their tacos. First, squeeze the lime all over your taco. It adds fresh flavor on your taco. And second, you tilt your head about 30 degrees then you eat it. If you're feeling full or prefer to eat less, don't worry! They have single portion of every taco dish which costs half of the double.

Double Carne Taco (60 K)

This taco consists of pulled beef, frijoles, salsa fresco and pimento asada. Unlike Lengua, this taco doesn't stand out too much. The spices didn't stood out too much as well. It was nice, but for me it lacks of "wow" factor.
